Three core amp sounds are available, along with a tonal variation that’s accessible with a panel switch. One variation is an uncolored clean sound for using Katana-Mini X with an acoustic-electric guitar or bass. Brown: Signature Katana high-gain sound inspired by the finest hard rock tones of all time. This amp type features a variation for tighter lows and crisper highs, ideal for precision high-gain riffing. Crunch: A fat and expressive mid-gain sound that responds to volume changes and picking dynamics. This amp sports a variation that adds smooth yet cutting high end for more aggressive playing styles. Clean: With Clean, you can use the gain knob to go from natural clean to slightly driven sounds, while providing an excellent platform for external FX. Clean includes a variation with a flat amp response that’s ideal for acoustic/electric guitar and electric bass.

Katana-Mini X features a traditional analog tone stack for natural sound-shaping using familiar bass, mid, and treble controls. MOD/FX and REV/DLY sections are also on hand, each with a diverse range of BOSS effects, for fast sound tweaks via single-knob controls that adjust multiple parameters at once. Both sections can be used simultaneously, letting you create combinations such as tremolo and spring reverb, phaser and delay, and many others.
